R.E.M. receives Rock the Vote award — George Stephanopoulos, Donny Osmond, Bill Clinton and Bill Berry showed up to tribute the rock band

Posted on

A weird blend of Pennsylvania Avenue residents and MTV celebrities turned up at Manhattan’s Supper Club recently to pay homage to R.E.M., the winners of a political-activism award from Rock the Vote. In the mix: everyone from babyfaced White House operative George Stephanopoulos to babyfaced popster Donny Osmond. Even President Bill Clinton checked in with a video tribute.
