Further proof that Madonna has fallen out of public favor: In her new video, ”Rain,” the singer has stripped off even more than usual, but nobody seems to care. Look close, and you’ll see her trademark mole is missing. ”She’s lent it to Cindy Crawford,” quips spokeswoman Liz Rosenberg, who says Madonna just felt like covering it up. In addition to the missing mole, Madonna’s eyes appear brilliant blue, and her hair is jet black. But even more conspicuously absent than the mole is any sort of audience reaction to either the look or the video. According to a spokeswoman, MTV has had ”no response at all to ‘Rain’ — nothing.” Watch for the mole’s return engagement on the singer’s Girlie Show tour, kicking off in London on Sept. 25.
