In I Can’t Tell You Anything and Other Stories Michael Dougan takes almost-tall tales — those incredible things that happen to your roommate’s cousin’s college buddy — and turns them into droll cartoon knee-slappers. It’s Slacker territory, for sure: The panels tell of dead-end summer jobs, cursed 1965 Chevy Impalas, and memories of watching an older sister prepare for a date to the strains of ”Where the Boys Are.” Dougan’s pen lines are blunt and uproarious, his narrative voice as supple and fluent as calligraphy.
