We gave it an B+

From a live 1980 radio broadcast, In the Beginning is a scorching set of early Stevie Ray Vaughan that should further enhance the late blues guitarist’s already legendary status. Even with nods to Freddie King (”In the Open”), Otis Rush (”All Your Love I Miss Loving”), and Elmore James (”Slide Thing”), it’s singe-fully clear that Vaughan was leaving distinguishing burn marks on the blues well before he hit the big time.
