Those who covet supermodel Cindy Crawford’s super shape may be surprised to find it’s due not only to grade-A choice genes but to stretching and toning routines developed by New York-based personal trainer Radu. In Cindy Crawford: Shape Your Body Workout, Crawford leads the viewer through two comprehensive, 45-minute, Radu-style workouts (designed to tone different muscles on alternate days) and one very intense 10-minute miniworkout (for those tight-for-time days). The only equipment needed is a pair of three- to five-pound hand weights, a pillow, and a chair. The hip music and graphics — black-and-white footage alternating with color shots taken on an Amagansett, Long Island, beach; in a Brooklyn loft; and on a Manhattan rooftop — lend a contemporary edge seldom seen in exercise videos. You won’t get much detailed instruction on body positioning from this tape, however, so you’d better be exercise-savvy to start. It’s tough, it’s thorough, and it proves that Crawford is indeed more than just another pretty physique. A
