Current entertainment related law suits — Director Barry Levinson and Meshulam Riklis are involved in high profile litigation

Posted on

Director Barry Levinson (Bugsy) is suing Cloris Leachman over the mail. Because their West L.A. homes share a driveway and Levinson’s mailbox is the only one near it, Leachman’s mail is often left in his box. Citing invasion of privacy (he claims the mix-ups are deliberate), Levinson says Leachman is trying to force him into placing a mailbox for her on his property. Leachman’s lawyer says, ”It’s a silly lawsuit.” A hearing is set for April 9.

Pia Zadora-Riklis has filed a $2 million suit against a contractor, an architect, and an engineer who worked on the $7 million remodeling of Pickfair, the Mary Pickford-Douglas Fairbanks Beverly Hills estate that Pia and tycoon hubby Meshulam Riklis bought in 1988 for $6.6 million. Among the 33 complaints, she charges that the window openings were too small for the frames, electrical outlets weren’t installed, and mold was allowed to grow on exterior limestone walls. Two parties named in the suit say the charges are unfounded. — Additional reporting by Paula Parisi
